On the Last Day of Maythe last day of may overshadowed with grey you feel rain in your bones and hear children play and you sing like a siren in pale moonlight and you're certain the dead visit you in the night and when the rain fallsOn the Last Day of May
in thick, warm drops through the red maples branches your breath just stops and your bare feet
feel the life energy sometimes it's so strong you can just barely see to the ends of time
and back through the ring like matching both ends of a ribbon or string

Great Grandmothershe has a face as old as the world full of valleys and mountainsGreat Grandmother
and of ancient understanding and peace
such peace has been gathered
through her view of this journey spread over eras
from Adam and Eve to your children's children
if it weren't for her eyes she
would blend in nicely
with the elderly sitting on the porch and drinking tea
but they shine bright from her pale face and reflect a wisdom that you cannot comprehend
like the gears in a watch moving together to form something graceful
